Under a school competition, we were 7 students working together to build a recommendation for a real project. We had to create a whole concept based on a light brief which could be resumed by : find a creative way to bring digital professionals to an event. Although, we structured a strategy keeping in mind our wishes, ideas, and the school’s needs. It appeared to be very hard to work with a such numerous team in order to create something atypical and new. To promote it, the most difficult part was to gather and synthesize everything.
La nuit du digital was the first name of the school’s project which requested to the students to create a new concept via a competition. The goal was to build up an atypical event in order to gather digital professionals to share a singular experience which could become an opportunity for some students participating while meeting the professionals. Moreover, it’s an additional way of communication for the school as an added value.
We had many ideas which has been the subject of a selection in order to exploit the most pertinent ones. So we defined selection criteria and consulted each others every day to choose the ideas to invest into. It was a very hard team work, because we were numerous, and no one wanted to give up its ideas in favor of the others. We were 2 doing our best to federate each member and to put everyone agree on our main story line.
Various minds were at work to analyze the situation part by part dispatching the whole job between us in accordance to our professional affinities. I happen to be one of those which worked on the global analysis of the project, and then the strategy. So, I monitored the whole project and each member to be sure that the final work would be coherent. Even if I had to manage people, their ideas, or adapt it.
Although, in order to do the best strategy, we had to be organized, because the project Digital Rise was vast and ambitious, so we needed to present it quickly and exhaustively.
The team was kind of scattered as we dispatched each parts between us, so we needed to consolidate our arguments to present a coherent and pertinent project. In other words, I gathered all the team’s work, bit by bit, selected it and adapted it as best as I could to make a good introduction of the project.
Off course I had to exchange a lot with my teammates to keep the essential of theirs ideas without distorting it while maintaining the presentation support in the best possible shape.
Finally, the school proposed to submit a opened vote to see the popularity of each project, to give an evaluation, and to choose the project to realize despise everything else. So we were the more popular with a clear superior number of votes, we obtained the best evaluation for our work, but the second place project has been chosen to be realized. Even if we worked hard and proved to be able to promote well our concept, the most original and the one with the best potential was the second project. At the end, I find it rejoicing, because Digital Rise is the incarnation of our capacity to develop an interesting project and to promote it as best as possible without the best idea. Digikid was the best idea, and it’s still a school’s symbol.
